Vakayi Capital focuses on supporting outstanding entrepreneurs providing  essential services in Zimbabwe.

Paul has over 20 years of experience investing in emerging markets.
He has been a director of E+Co, an investment company for renewable energy in emerging markets, and of SOVEC, and investment funds for SMEs in Ghana.

He was the lead developer of the Global Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Fund (GEEREF), a EUR 110 mln fund managed by the European Investment Bank, targeting emerging markets.

He has been engaged in investing seed capital and growth capital to entrepreneurs, including sectors like solar, hydro power and healthcare.
As a consultant his themes are financing of innovative businesses in emerging markets

Dan Kranzler has been a startup entrepreneur for over 45 years managing, supporting, and financing high–tech start–up companies beginning with the earliest days of the startup of cellular telephone.

Dan has been involved in senior management roles at a number of communications and Internet companies and has been a global speaker and advisor on wireless, technology, organizational development “Service Leadership” and the corporate innovation gap.

He is currently the Managing Partner of eFund, LLC ( an early-stage funder of innovative technology startups in the Pacific Northwest.

Chai is partner as well as Chief Executive Officer of Vakayi Capital.

Chai has extensive experience in corporate finance in Zimbabwe and the region having worked on numerous deals locally and regionally for several corporate finance organisations at a senior level. Most recently he was Senior Manager –Deal Advisory at KPMG where he was responsible for the corporate finance team of 5 professionals conducting corporate finance work for various clients, including IPOs, M&A’s, valuations and due diligences.

He was also the local team lead for KPMG’s infrastructure advisory which has been advising the local state energy utility on its expansion projects valued at US$2 billion. Chai was also managing director for SAL Advisors from 2007 to 2009 an Africa focused investment banking boutique with offices in Hamilton, Bermuda, South Africa and Harare, Zimbabwe, where he was responsible for all deal origination, corporate financing and investment banking activities in sub Saharan Africa.  

For three years prior to his association with SAL Advisors, Chai served as Executive Director and then Managing Director of Imara Corporate Finance Zimbabwe (formerly, Fleming Martin), where he was responsible for the origination and execution of IPOs, capital formation, mergers and acquisitions and financial restructuring. With over 25 years of business experience, Chai’s background includes serving as senior project and finance manager for Trust Bank Limited and Intermarket Banking Corporation, as well as founder and managing director of a consulting firm that structured and arranged financing for one of the first cellular service providers in Zimbabwe.  

He started his career as an accountant with Coopers & Lybrand and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Zimbabwe, and holds a Bachelors of Accounting Science (University of South Africa) and an MBA from The Henley Management College. Chai is a member of Vakayi’s Investment Committee.

Chai Musoni
Patrick is the Chief Investment Officer of Vakayi Capital and is also a member of the Investment Committee.
Patrick has over 15 years of private equity experience having joined Investors in Africa - Takura Ventures (‘Pvt’) Ltd (‘Takura Ventures’) in 1996. Initially recruited as a Finance & Investment Executive he rose through the ranks to become General Manager of Takura Ventures in January 2004.

He resigned from Takura Ventures in June 2010 to venture into private business Patrick is a seasoned private equity practitioner. He has a demonstrable track record in private equity including the key disciplines of sourcing, negotiating and structuring, managing and exiting private equity transactions in companies ranging from manufacturing to services and telecommunication sectors. Prior to joining Takura Ventures, Patrick worked in the manufacturing sector for Unilever and Tetra Pak in commercial, financial and treasury roles.  

He holds both a Bachelor of Business Studies (Hons) (UZ) and an MBA majoring in Finance from the University of Zimbabwe. He is also an associate of the Chartered Institute of Chartered Secretaries (‘ACIS’) and the Institute of Chartered Global Management Accountants (‘ACGMA’). He is an alumnus of the Harvard Program on Investment Appraisal and Management.

Godwin joined Vakayi Capital in January 2017 as an Investment Analyst.
Godwin has over 10 years experience in fund management and investment advisory. He began his career in 2002 working as an Investment Analyst with Interfin Stockbrokers. He later joined Infinity Asset Management for a 7 year stint as Head of Investments. Godwin holds a BSC (Hons) Economics (UZ).
